A few days ago we commemorated Earth Day, a day dedicated to reflecting on our responsibility to care for the planet, everyone’s home. For this reason, it is essential to make the population aware of the effect of our actions and the extent to which they can harm the Earth.
However, raising awareness is not enough if we do not actively participate in caring for the planet. Including small actions in our day to day, such as recycling, reducing the use of plastic, keeping our beaches and forests clean, or using, as far as possible, alternative transport, can help reduce our environmental impact and contribute to guaranteeing a sustainable future. for all.
Companies also have a great responsibility in protecting the environment. For this reason, at Runakay we have always opted for sustainable practices to preserve our planet. For example, more than 70% of our products are of plant origin. This data is relevant, since livestock is responsible for 14.5% of greenhouse gas emissions, being one of the most polluting industries. In addition, to produce milk, many more resources are needed than those used to obtain a vegetable drink. For this reason, at Runakay we are committed to 100% vegan ice creams.
Another of the actions that we adopt is the use of organic products for our preparations, respecting the cycles of nature and avoiding the use of chemical pesticides, synthetic and transgenic fertilizers. With this, more sustainable products are achieved, minimizing the environmental impact throughout the production process.
Packaging is undoubtedly another of our concerns. For this reason, our packaging has the green dot symbol as part of our commitment to recycling, a fundamental process to reduce the amount of waste we generate. We also comply with the requirements of the FSC Certificate, a forest certification that guarantees good forest management in the production of our packaging.
It is important to highlight our responsibility to nature and assume our commitment to actions that demonstrate our concern for the planet. Let’s make it, together, a better place to live.
